The South Florida Beach You Should Visit Based on Your Mood

February in Florida is different from February in most other states in the country. While they may have snowstorms and chill days that require layers, Florida arguably has the best weather of the year to head to our most famous destination: the beach. Yes, you can visit the gorgeous coastline any month of the year, but February and March mark the two best months to go, in our opinion. Why? It’s not too hot this time of year (the temperature nearly always falls in the mid-to-high-seventies), humidity is relatively low compared to the rest of the year, and the seaweed is on hiatus. Need we say more? Once you’ve decided you’re headed to the beach, however, which one do you choose? There are so many different kinds of beach environments along South Florida’s coastline, so to help you decide, we’ve compiled a list of the best beaches to go to depending on the mood you’re in that day.

For when you’re feeling…

In need of a relaxing, peaceful beach day

→ Gulfstream Park

If you’re feeling extra introverted or want a quiet place to read a book, Gulfstream Park in Delray Beach is the place to head to. Located in the quiet stretch between downtown Delray Beach and Boynton Beach, the Gulfstream beach area is one of the calmer spots on the coastline, so it’s perfect if you don’t want to run into any crowds on your day off.

Like you want to spend all day at the beach

→ Delray Public Beach

If you want an all-day beach day with minimal time spent walking or driving, the beach right off of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach is the one for you. It’s one of the few beaches where options for food (including breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and drinks!) and a wide variety of alternate activities (like shopping, visiting a science museum, spending time at a hotel’s pool and spa, and more) exist right across the street. You can truly spend all day at Delray Beach and never have to worry about going hungry or being bored!

Like you want to have an active beach day

→ Deerfield Beach

Deerfield Beach is the perfect stretch of shoreline to partake in all the watersports your heart desires! Island Water Sports is a local shop located just steps from the beach. There, you can rent surfboards, paddleboards, skimboards, and body boards so you can take full advantage of the warm water and perfect weather!

Especially luxurious

→ The beach at The Breakers Palm Beach

Take a staycation or splurge on an annual or summer membership at The Breakers of Palm Beach and you won’t be disappointed with how luxurious and upscale your beach days are. Not only is the beach at The Breakers private to members and guests, you can make your experience even more secluded by reserving a beach bungalow, where you can lounge in the sun and sip on a piña colada or ice cold local beer.

Like spending time with family (and we mean the whole family)

→ Bark Beach at Spanish River Park

If you want to treat your whole family to a beach day and bring your furry friend along, Bark Beach at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton is the only dog friendly beach in the area! Let your kids and dogs expend all their energy while you sit back, relax, and enjoy the crashing waves. You will need a permit to enter this beach, however; you can find more information on how to get one here.

Social and ready for some fun

→ Las Olas Beach

If you want your beach day to turn into a fun and exciting night out with friends, Las Olas Beach in Fort Lauderdale is the place to do it. After spending your day lounging in the sun, head to one of the many spots along A1A where you can shop, grab dinner and drinks, see live music, and more!
